51st annual Stuart Christmas Parade comes to town Dec. 2 with Grand Marshal Joe Crankshaw

The 51st Annual Stuart Christmas Parade is coming to town Friday, December 2 at 7 p.m.  This year’s parade, organized by Stuart Main Street, follows the theme It’s a Wonderful World, and will have more than 70 entries including marching bands, lighted floats, antique cars, and, of course, Santa.  The parade, which is held every year on the first Friday in December, follows East Ocean Boulevard from Georgia Avenue to Monterey Road. Leading off this year’s parade will be Grand Marshal Joe Crankshaw, local journalist, historian and veteran.

“The parade is an eagerly awaited tradition here in Stuart,” Mary Hutchinson, parade co-chair, said.  “It is hard to say who is more excited, the schools, churches, civic clubs and businesses who create these spectacular floats, or the thousands of spectators who line East Ocean Boulevard to watch the parade and celebrate the start of the holiday season.”

Hutchinson added, “We could not put on this parade without the help of committed sponsors.  The Fresh Market, which recently opened on East Ocean Boulevard, signed on as the top sponsor along with our longtime supporters, Just Gold Jewelers, Seacoast National Bank, The Stuart News, the City of Stuart, Goldstein, Schmitt & Wade, PL, Tidy Coast Event Services, Barry Grant Creative, Sunshine Golf Car and Ampersand Graphics.”
