Over 500 history enthusiasts and lovers of Downtown Stuart beat the rain to tour the historic properties of Seminole Street for the third annual Stuart Heritage Day Saturday, May 12, 2018.
This year the tour, hosted by Stuart Heritage with Stuart Main Street, focused on historic properties on Seminole Street, including the Harbor House, Owl House, Old Colorado Inn, the Ernie Lyons House and others. The self-guided tour offered the public a rare look inside these privately owned homes.
Many thanks to tour organizers Mary Jones and Alice Luckhardt. And to Mike and Marie Braid and Tara Biek at the Harbor House, David at Hollub Homes River House, and especially to Steve Vitale of the Old Colorado Inn for opening these unique homes. Also to Stuart Coffee Company for providing refreshments at the Stuart Heritage Museum and the City of Stuart for providing the Downtown Tram.
Finally, a special thanks to our welcoming and informative docents: Alice Luckhardt, Ellen Klempert, Sandra Thurlow, Pat Murchison, Debbie Skidmore, Charlie Porter, Joan Jefferson, Betty Hardwick, Nancy Crawford, Karen Morrissette, Debbie Sigafoose, Carol Walker and Ty Behrends.
